Adios Two Thousand Thirteeeen

wearing Chanel coat/ Boy Bag, Zara Jeans, Monki Shirt and Acne Shoes
Photos by my best boy Quyen Mike

This is my last chance to squeeze in a post ( i know thank god finally) before 2013 comes to an end. These were taken couple weeks ago in London when fall was still pitching perfect. I have just only realised that there is quite a backlog of “outfit post” photos on my laptop that never make it onto the blog. And there are reasons. Reason one is not having enough hours in the day . Reason two is I get bored. After a few days have passed, I find the content already feels old. Bloggers, do any of you feel the same?  Maybe the best solution to cure this mentality is to not overthink about it and just POST! Definitely one of my resolution for 2014. Lastly, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year whenever you are !
Keep creating, keep loving
With love ❤ N

Gone and returned

coat – Mango // blouse, jacket – H&M // pants – Zara // boots – Office UK // accessories – Floralpunk
Iam glad to be able to post these photos at last. I thought they got lost in my Macbook, but suddenly they showed up again, nearly two weeks later.
This coat I got from Mango for a bargain of 40 Pounds, never keeps me warm enough actually, so I always have to layer and wear more jackets underneath. One of my favourite combos is the one with this quiltes H&M jacket I got at the sale for 15 bucks. Wearing my office boots, which I bought because my aching feet made me. I wore shoes in London which were one size too small. My feet ached so badly after 10 hours of shopping, I could barely walk anymore, that’s how much it hurt. So new shoes needed to be found, and I got mine at Office. I really like Office, because they offer a good selection of stylish shoes at very affordable prices, if you don’t convert to Euro.
Many more blog entries to come soon ! I have a lot to tell, so stay tuned.

Love,
Julia

London Diary: The Last Day

coat – Mango / shoes – Office UK / skinny jeans – Zara

We didn’t do anything special on our last day. Got some last shopping done, had dinner, then went to The Book Club, because I really wanted to have some Kopperberg Cider. The Book Club is a bar, resto thing, which Van Anh introduced me to last year ! She was also the one introducing me to Kopperberg Cider, and I didn’t realize that they have it at Ikea until a few days ago. A non-alcoholic version though. When I asked for Kopperberg at the Book Club, they told me that they don’ have it anymore, and the bar guy made me try Briska Pomegranate Cider instead, and it’s so yummy as well ! A tad too sweet though. So if you are in the UK, don’t like british beer, then ask for Cider ! Most ciders taste reaaaalllyyyy good. Definitely something not to miss out on when you are in London. Even though most Ciders are from Sweden. Why don’t bars offer them here in Germany ?

I wasn’t too sad to leave London this time, because a whole lot of work was waiting for me back home, but iam already looking forward to my next visit to that city. Even though I do the same things I do in Berlin, it feels completely different. There is something more exciting about going shopping, meeting friends, going to eat and going clubbing, than when you are just in your hometown. I don’t know whether it is London, because London is amazing, or simply the fact that you are in a major city elsewhere, but either way, I really love that feeling, and don’t think I will ever get tired of visiting London.

London Diary: A whole day shopping

One thing that I really dislike about London is that you always seem to have to queue. Because it is so crowded everywhere ! On our second day in London all we did was eat, and shop. For a good 10 hours straight. Maybe I should do a London haul video ? We went from Covent Garden to Oxford Circus and the streets were so crowded, it was basically impossible to hurry and walk fast. So if you come to London on a weekend, and want to go shopping on Oxford Circus, don’t think you will be able to do a quick shopping spree. It will take a while, but it will be worth it. For lunch we had dim sum at some place in Chinatown, which wasn’t even the best dim sum restaurant around, because we tried to avoid a long queue, but we still had to wait for like 15-20 minutes. Places are small, and dim sum craving people on a Saturday are plenty. For dinner we had Japanese, which was rather disappointing. We were super exhausted from shopping, and my Katsu Curry was not hot. As in, it’s been standing around in the kitchen for a while, and is not hot anymore. I was so exhausted, I didn’t even bother to complain though. Who says shopping isn’t tiring ? I felt like I had run a marathon when I got home. That’s not when my day ended though. I even managed to bring up enough energy to go clubbing afterwards ! It was Nga’s sister Nhung’s birthday party, and I really couldn’t miss out on that one ! In the end I was glad I went, because I had so much fun. I might as well post photos of that night in the next entry !
That day I also got to met Kim from Chocolate on Cashmere the very first time, and we spent the whole day together ! It was such a pleasure, she’s such a funny and nice girl, and soooo skinny. You might think Iam tall for a Vietnamese girl at 1,70m, but she is even taller than me ! And skinnier.
Also special thanks to Van Anh from Chopstick Panorama for hosting me and my friend Nomin once again ! Van Anh is seriously one of the funniest and most honest girls I know. Gotta love her.
That’s it, from my second day in London. I would love to go back soon. I love London so much, it is such a big city, but feels so cozy and fuzzy, I love that ! It is crowded, yes, but that’s why you get the big city feeling. If you love silence and a relaxed atmosphere, cities as London might not be your cup of tea.
Love,
Julia

London Diary : The first night

photos taken by myself with the Sony Nex 3 NLB
Finally ! I got to edit the photos from my trip to London last month ! There are going to be a lot more photos, but I need to divide them into three posts, otherwise it would be too much photo material for one blog entry. What to tell. It’s not my first time in London, so don’t expect any tourist photos. I did all the casual things Londoners would do as well: shopping, eating and clubbing ! I had a great weekend, great food, and a lot of fun. The photos were taken with my new Sony Nex 3 NLB, and edited with Lightroom, to avoid questions.
My friend Nomin and me took a flight with Ryanair, which is cheap in every way. But it’s cheap, so you can’t complain ! One return flight was 50€, and that’s less than what I pay to go to Munich. When we arrived, we took the wrong bus to town, during peak hour. We took the one to Victoria station, instead of Liverpool Street, so we sat in the bus for a good 2.5 hours. What a fail. Once we arrived we met our friends Yi and Junu, and had Korean dinner, which was not bad. Everything is better than fake Korean food in Berlin haha. By the way, one of the waitresses nicked the tip, but I was too shy to say a word haha. I saw her taking out the tip and putting it into her pocket, which is really not cool at all !
After dinner we went to see Nga for a bit, cos she lives nearby ! We should have gotten outfit photos taken man, what kind of fashion bloggers are we haha. But it was kind of awkward with so many people around waiting for us. There were my friend Nomin, Nga’s sister Nhung, her boyfriend, her cousin and Yi’s boyfriend, all of them standing at a street corner waiting for us to get finished with taking photos haha.
We ended our night and started our morning at Fabric to the sounds of Boys Noize and other DJs from Boys Noize Records. Nomin and me stayed with Van Anh, of whom you can see more tomorrow, in the second part of my travel diary ! And if you want to see previous travel diaries of me, click here
Sorry if the text is a little lame and unexciting, but iam kind of in a hurry, and feel really uncreative at the moment haha. Tomorrow will be better, at least i hope so ! : )
Love,
Julia

Hey guys, iam extremely sorry for the lack of updates, but Iam super busy with Floralpunk these days. It is pre-christmas seasons, which means that I need to promote Floralpunk a lot, to make people buy from me hehe. My first christmas season ! Along with essay deadlines and lash extension appointments, Iam super duper busy. I don’t think I have ever been this busy in my whole life, and iam not sure whether I like it. But unlike me last year, I just get through with it, instead of throwing everything away because I can’t handle the pressure. What is helping me a lot these days is making lists ! I have to make a to-do and to-get list every day, otherwise I’d get confused with all the things I have to do. I love ticking off things off the list, it gives you some feeling of contentment, that keeps me going. I also have a rather short Christmas list this year. There aren’t many things I have to get. My friends and me don’t really make presents to each other anymore, it’s great enough to see each other and spend the days (or nights) together, my parents don’t really need anything but my love and maybe some self-made cookies, and all there’s left are my baby brother and sisters, and my boyfriend. I know not everyone has it as easy as me though. So if you are still looking for something nice for your sister, girlfriend or friend, why not a pair of beautiful earrings from Floralpunk ; ) ?

You can also get them at the upcoming Blogger & Designer Market in Berlin ! Other bloggers and cool brands will be there to sell their stuff ! I won’t be selling any clothes, since I don’t have much left after the last Blogger Bazaar, but I will be present with Floralpunk goods ! So stop by if you are free and say hello. Here the link for the FB event for more information, and a list of the participating bloggers and brands:
