One’s trash is another’s treasure. As I had announced on Instagram and Facebook, I took part in the first Blogger Bazaar in Munich last Saturday, October 19th, and it exceeded my expectations by far. The location, Stylight headquarter, was just perfect for the occasion. A big room with windows at the ceiling, which allowed a lot of natural light from the sunny day to come in and tables with clothing racks for each seller. I had a smaller spot in a corner, and was already concerned about how I was going to place all my items, since I had brought all items from my closet, that I didn’t wear anymore. It was a lot. Fortunately my neighbor, Mauricius (whoever you are, thank you!), didn’t come, so I got his table as well. With enough space for all my items, price tags provided by the Blogger Bazaar team and drinks from Red Bull and Jules Mumm, I couldn’t wait for the crowd to come in ! It was all about moneymaking and getting rid of the clothes that have been hanging around in my closet for years. Accessories and shoes I havn’t worn for a very long time, or never worn before. In the end I was able to sell 70% of the things I had brought at very very low prices. I still managed to make 700 something somehow even though I sold earrings and rings at 1€ and most of my clothes at 4-15€. You see, I had a lot of stuff to sell. Stuff of which I didn’t think that I’d be able to sell it. There is still some left, and I hope I can participate in the next blogger flea market again.
It’s a great opportunity for bloggers, to get to sell their clothes to a more fashion oriented crowd at blogger flea markets. Unlike a normal flea market, at a blogger flea market, the expected audience comes for the purpose of buying clothes. It is an a lot more categorized kind of flea market, than casual flea markets, where you can find anything from spoons to old CDs. So at a normal flea market you will find all kinds of people, from the ones looking for spoons to the ones looking for old CDs, as well. With a lot of clothes and accessories, you might not find the customers you want to attract.
I had a great time, and Iam so glad I didn’t go by myself. My cousin offered me to come with me and to help me. Without her I probably wouldn’t even have been able to go to the restrooms because it was so crowded ! From the opening to closing time. Some of my friends had to queue for two hours ! Which was just half as bad, because it was a sunny autumn day, and because they got drinks for free. The organizers of the event did a great job though, by keeping the people in a good mood, and making sure that it was never overcrowded inside.
Some PR people came up to me and exchanged business cards with me, and I really hope it will lead to more. Iam not a very well known blogger in Germany yet, but I wouldn’t mind getting there. I felt a little intimidated by the other bloggers at first, because I have been reading their blogs, but everyone was really nice. I met Fan-Ning from MUCstyle again, who I met at my last blogger event more than a year ago. She said that I look like I had lost weight, best compliment ever! Since I have lost weight. And I had Vicky from The Golden Bun right across my table, and Masha Segwick was right next to her. I couldn’t not look at them haha. It was all, very exciting, and very fun.
Thank you so much Blogger Bazaar team for this experience. After such an successful event, there must be a followup ! So everyone, go to the Facebook page of Blogger Bazaar, like it, and stay tuned for the next events !
