First Style Challenge: A Tight Dress

This is a tight black dress, on me. To most girls, nothing special. They wear dresses like this every weekend to go for a drink or clubbing, but to me, this piece of clothing is something I feel very uncomfortable in. As if I was naked. I have never liked wearing tight dresses very much, when I was in my teens, it was because I was chubby, and now, because it just feels wrong somehow. The biggest problem I had during this shooting was to keep my posture. I actually have a very bad posture, and everything about it screams: ‘not confident, don’t talk to me’. My boyfriend constantly had to keep reminding me to stand straight. Usually I wear wide clothes, so it’s not much of a big deal, but if you wear a tight dress and don’t wear it with the right attitude, it looks just wrong ! A little black dress. A symbol for sexiness to so many people. But not for me. I have never felt sexy in my life, and I doubt I will ever do or want to do.
So what did this style challenge teach me?

At the age of 21, I still don’t feel confident in my own skin. I cover my body as good as possible to avoid facing the fact, that I need to start working on my body. It’s not like I don’t want to feel confident with my body, but fact is, I don’t, that’s why I have to work on it. I really didn’t feel comfortable at all. I also admire the girls who put so much effort into their style, that they go out in such dresses at night, in the middle of winter ! Respect girls ! But it simply is not my thing.
Will this style challenge change the way I dress?

Right now I can’t imagine myself stepping out of the house in such a dress anytime soon. Even though…. I love those tight dresses, with long sleeves and full of sequins. But it feels like dressing up to me, rather than just simple wearing clothes. It’s not meant to be. I will never be the hot kind of girl, I guess.
Do you have any other suggestions for my next style challenges ? Things you think that might suit me, but have never seen on me before ? If yes, leave a comment and let me know! I will see whether I can realize it : )
My next style challenge: turtle neck ! I have a very long hate-history with turtle necks. Yet I don’t get around finding them more and more cool ! Gotta give it a try. Stay tuned kids !

P.S. I didn’t photoshop, but I picked the best out of 350 photos, and if you look closely, you can see my belly : ) And I hate my knees haha.

Hey kids, here is my first post of 2014 ! I spent New Years Eve at my dad’s in a small town, and arrived there around 10pm. My dad made me hurry, because people were waiting for us at his restaurant, to start the NYE dinner. I was wearing Converse sneakers at that time, and actually wanted to change my footgear, but my dad didn’t let me. My boots were in my big suitcase, and I would have had to dig them out from underneath my pile of clothes, and apparently there was no time for that. I wanted to change my shoes, because I thought it would be better to start into the new year with solid shoes. So I will walk through this new year with firmness, instead of chilling too much, which the sneakers symbolize to me. All bullshit of course. My choice of shoes has nothing to do with how hard Iam going to work this year. Actually I bought three pairs of new sneakers from my two of my favourite stores asphaltgold and VooStore. All Nike. All good. I feel very ambitious, and confident about the progress iam going to make with Floralpunk this year. All I would like to say to you is, if you have a vision, don’t be afraid to realize it. I have always thought of myself of the most average, hopeless bummer ever, but if I can make something work, believe me, you can do it as well. So if you have resolutions for this year, I can only encourage you to just do it. Trust me with this one. It will pay off.

Actually I was going to do my first style challenge today, with a tight and short dress, but it was too cold outside, so my boyfriend ended up taking photos of my casual outfit instead. It was cool this afternoon, and the mood and lights were caught so beautifully. I really love this set of photos. The Mango coat iam wearing is on sale btw ! 50% off ! Better get it before it’s gone.

About my personal style challenge: I want to experiment a little and overcome some of my personal outfit no-goes, and make things, which I usually would never ever wear, work. My current style is best described as casual, simple and non-colourful. No dresses, no skirts. Pants and shirts. Iam sure I could pull off a lot more, if I’d just dare. But like with everything in life, iam someone who prefers to play safe, so I usually don’t buy clothes, of which I think that they don’t match that current style. But I need to break out of this blackness, try things I never tried before, and I might experience a whole new thing for myself. As Nga has said recently, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” And I fucking need to get out of my style comfort zone ! That’s why I called this style challenge to life ! So if you have any ideas, whether it is beauty or clothes, of which you think that they might suit me, and you have never seen on me before, feel free to leave a comment !
